Alert: Please Be Aware…

We want to alert you that a former employee/shareholder of ours is sending direct messages and posting fabricated stories and pictures about MandaLao on a number of FaceBook and Instagram accounts in various names and more recently on LinkedIn using his own name. Now, we understand he has also mailed a video he concocted to a number of guests who have visited us in the past. This is being done in an attempt to hurt MandaLao, our elephants, our owners and staff, as well as other local businesses and business leaders in Luang Prabang.

If you do see any of these posts, or receive an email or communication from him, or from [email protected], we would encourage you to report it to whichever platform it’s posted on and block him. This is the advice we have received from federal and city law enforcement and a forensic psychiatrist with whom we are working, the end goal being that he gets the help he needs such that he does no harm to himself or others and that this online defamation attempt is curtailed.

Working every day to ensure that rescued elephants live the happiest, healthiest lives possible is everything to us at MandaLao. To have someone try and undermine that is frustrating, yes, but we will never waver in our commitment.

Khop jai lai lai.

OUR MISSION

To demonstrate respect for and understanding of elephants by providing our guests a wholly educational and interactive experience.

OUR GOAL

To help visitors connect with elephants in the most natural way possible in elephant tourism today. It is our hope that this knowledge will spread, promoting increasingly humane and ethical treatment of elephants across Laos and beyond its borders.

WITH YOUR SUPPORT

We preserve and protect both captive elephants and those who remain in the wild. We do this through responsible tourism, education, and sustainable relationships with the local community.

CUSTOM/ PRIVATE TOURS

MandaLao would love to help make your travels unforgettable. If you are traveling with a big group or looking for a place to host an event, MandaLao is happy to help. We also offer private behind the scenes tours with one of the owners if you are looking for our most comprehensive and unique experience.

We are located approximately 20 kilometers from Luang Prabang city center. The drive takes about 30 minutes.

While most of our tours are moderately difficult, with little to no elevation gain, it can still be tiring walking in the heat. The trails can be very muddy and slippery, especially during the rainy season (June-September)
